What's Happening in Jackson?

Here's the situation — and why your voice matters right now.

City Council Acted

On December 16, 2025, the Jackson City Council passed a resolution decriminalizing entheogens — including their purchase, possession, and distribution. The council also called on the county prosecutor to cease prosecution of entheogen-related activity.

Small Businesses Grew

In the months that followed, Jackson saw small business growth through new storefronts — operating under the same model as other Michigan cities where entheogens were decriminalized, like Detroit and Ann Arbor.

Enforcement Threats

On July 30–31, the Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET) visited all locations and issued verbal warnings: any shop continuing to provide entheogens would face criminal investigation, regardless of the City Council resolution.

Your Help Is Needed

The only difference between Jackson and cities like Detroit or Ann Arbor is that Jackson's prosecutor has indicated willingness to pursue charges. We need your help contacting the prosecutor's office to honor the will of the city council and residents.
